So I started VT again. However this time I found it much more difficult. I seemed to have a lot of resistance to coming in for my VT sessions. I always found some reason why I could not come. I had even more difficulty doing my home exercises. Even though I knew all the benefits that would come back to me if I complied with my treatment plan, I was still resistant. Jennifer was working with me at this time and when I expressed my frustration she was very supportive. Even now I am having trouble. I argue with myself over the five or ten minutes it takes to pick up and use my flippers, lifesavers and beaded string. I don’t know why I am having this much difficulty. In spite of it, I
am
struggling and I am winning. Once again my eyesight has improved and I am able to read comfortably and without pain. As you said, “Anything can be fixed.”
So I wanted to share these experiences with everyone. If you are having trouble doing your home exercises, I know iiowyou fec~. If
yo~are having difficulty
keeping your VT appointments, I really know how you feel. I also know that getting back my ability to read is one of the greatest gifts I could ever have hoped for. I want everyone at New York Eye Associates to know how much I appreciate you. I want to encourage anyone and everyone who is getting VT to stick with it. I promise you, it’s worth it! Thank you.
Sincerely yours,
