About Dr. Man Yi (Joyce) Gao

Dr. Man Yi (Joyce) Gao graduated from Macaulay Honors at Hunter College with a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences and a minor in Asian American Studies. She went on to receive her doctorate and a microcredential certificate in Advanced Cornea and Contact Lenses from SUNY College of Optometry, where she also graduated as President of the Gold Key Optometric Honor Society. Through her microcredential program, she received training in fitting specialty soft and hard contact lenses including rigid gas permeable and scleral lenses, as well as managing myopia with low-dose atropine eye drops, multi-focal contact lenses, and orthokeratology. As someone who grew up in Brooklyn, she is excited to give back to her community through her time at Cooper Eye Care.

Graduate: SUNY College of Optometry, recipient of micro-credential certificate in Advanced Cornea and Contact Lenses, awarded the Dr. Max Cohen Memorial Award for Outstanding Volunteer Commitment to Community Service
